Behind Parallel Acupuncture are the 35 years of acupuncture treatment experience and tests conducted by the inventor and acupuncturist Hugo Nielsen from Grem, Denmark.

When an ordinary acupuncture point has the goal of balancing two similar, corresponding ranking points on the body, Hugo Nielsen found that many more conditions could be resolved with the parallel effort of two needles. Two similar placed needles instead of one.

In his own research facility, the Hugo Nielsen Institute in Gram, Denmark, Hugo Nielsen carried out significant research efforts in finding the acupuncture points and their impact for Parallel Acupuncture. While its still early stages, there is evidence now that animals and humans largely reacting quite similar to Parallel Acupuncture.

In addition, Hugo Nielsen developed devices for electromagnetic cell treatment he calls the "Cell-Com System". In combination with acupuncture, this system is used for therapeutic, prophylactic and regenerative body therapy.

Therefore one of the defining characteristics of the Hugo Nielsen System (HNS) is application of needles or Cell Com on the same acupoints on the left and right side of the body at the same time. Living systems are dynamic systems, i.e. systems that changes over time. And the changes and movements are initiated by polarity and polarities. Clinical experiences show definitely that Parallel Acupuncture is able to
