Located on Manhattan's Upper West Side, Orchid Aesthetics is a laser and skin-care spa that describes itself as a "natural facial rejuvenation center." The cozy 900-square-foot facility has three treatment rooms. Services include facials, chemical peels, acupuncture face-lifts, Latisse® eyelash extensions, Botox®, Juvéderm™ Ultra, Restylane®, Perlane®, Radiesse®, lip and cheek augmentation, and nonsurgical rhinoplasty. A variety of laser-based services such as skin tightening, hair removal, spider vein removal, and photo rejuvenation are also available. Clients seeking eye treatments can select from the Exceptional Eye Treatment, which incorporates small Botox® injections, an anti-puffiness eye mask, or nonsurgical eye rejuvenation (also called a nonsurgical eye lift or Blepharoplasty) to correct dark circles under the eye used in conjunction with Juvéderm™ Ultra, Perlane®, or Restylane® to give eyes a more youthful look. Dr. Roxanna Kerns administers laser services, nonsurgical face-lifts, the acupuncture face-lift, chemical peels, Botox® injections, and dermal fillers. She trained as a surgeon for six years before becoming a board-certified anesthesiologist at a major teaching hospital of Columbia University in New York City and at the teaching hospital at Tufts University in Boston. Dr. Kerns also completed a curriculum in cosmetic acupuncture and the Mei Zen system at the Eastern School of Acupuncture and Traditional Medicine in New Jersey. She is affiliated with the American Association of Aesthetic Medicine and Surgery and the American Medical Association and is a diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology and a member of the American Board of Medical Specialty. Complimentary initial consultations on skin and facial rejuvenation are provided by Dr. Kerns, and the spa offers nutritional supplements for anti-aging along with medically supervised metabolic testing.
