25 Years of Experience in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology Cara Frank has been a practitioner and teacher of Acupuncture and Chinese herbology for more than 25 years. She is a popular lecturer, known especially for her clear and irreverent teaching style. Cara has demystified Chinese Herbology for acupuncturists, doctors, nurses, veterinarians, botanists and researchers. Currently she is the Director of the Department of Chinese Herbology at the Tai Sophia Institute for the Healing Arts, located in Laurel MD. Cara’s initial training was at the New England School of Acupuncture. Her herbal training was done with Ted Kaptchuk, OMD, Simon Mills and at the Xi Yuan Hospital in Beijing, China. It was there, in China, that her love affair with Chinese herbs took root, and still flourishes. While Cara works with a multitude of health problems, she has a special focus on internal medicine. Among the varied problems that Cara’s patients seek relief from are: allergies, musculo-skeletal disorders, digestive problems, headaches, pediatric complaints, PMS, menopause, infertility and side effects of cancer treatments. Using acupuncture, herbs, nutrition, and exercise, Cara ‘s treatments help to relieve the stress and suffering of those who seek her help. She is committed to empowering people to make positive life changes that benefit their health. In the summer of 2007 Cara relocated to a beautiful treatment space in Center City Philadelphia. In 1991, she, founded the China Herb Company, which has grown to become the premier Chinese herbal pharmacy in the USA. MISSION STATEMENT I believe that people bring their own experiences and personal responses to life’s challenges. The Chinese Medical system of health care recognizes our unique patterns and works to restore balance and vitality. Inherent in Chinese Medicine is a respect for our individuality. Whether I am treating a back sprain or depression, I try to nurture people’s connections to themselves. Good health is not contingent on Chinese Medicine necessarily, but rather on an integrated approach of diet, lifestyle and respect for ones constitution. Chinese Medicine provides a vehicle for healing and integration that is stellar. Not only can symptoms be resolved, but also the underling mechanism can be harmonized.
