About me: As a Five Element acupuncturist, naturopathic doctor, and massage therapist, I am dedicated to improving your health and that of your family by providing effective, non-toxic health care. I am trained as a primary care practitioner, using natural therapies to bring the body, mind, and spirit into balance. In my practice, I offer acupuncture, manual therapies and naturopathic medical treatment for people of all ages and conditions. With each patient, I aim to: * Identify The Cause Of Disease/Illness/Malady * Stimulate The Body's Healing Mechanisms * Provide The Remedies Needed For Recovery * Help Patients Transition Into A Healthier Lifestyle I blend the best of clinical nutrition, homeopathy, acupuncture, Chinese medicine, herbal medicine, whole food supplements, and natural thyroid and hormonal therapies with extensive training in modern medical care to bridge the gap between naturopathic and conventional medicine. I practice under a unique model of health care. I spend the time required to hear my patients concerns and always strive to address the source of their problems. I believe that the best medicine is done with a team approach between doctor and patient. Ultimately, the patients will heal themselves. My role is to guide and support patients in this process.
Education: I received my doctorate of naturopathic medicine from Bastyr University and diploma in acupuncture from Wu Hsing Tao School, both in Seattle Washington. Prior, I studied and completed over 1500 hours and diplomas in medical massage therapy, traditional thai massage, cranio-sacral therapy, and Core (R) structural integration among others. My undergraduate foundation consisted of a broad base of arts and sciences, completing degrees in psychology, and theatre and dance, with a concentration in music performance. Physics and statistics were my favorite science courses.
Professional: I have served on various boards in hopes of helping to further the health of the human community. While on the mainland I served as student representative on the Board of Directors of Bastyr University, and the Washington Chapter of Physicians for Social Responsibility. I am a member of NADA, the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians and well as the Hawaii Society of Naturopathic Physicians.
